Episode 59: 2 Ways to Market Your MedSpa During this Crisis

Another day living in what we call now "The Great Lockdown." We are making history here! We know it's not ideal, but we firmly believe the only way for us is forward. Right now, the key is setting the proper mindset for the current situation we are living in; therefore, build a marketing strategy to take advantage of the less competitive & affordable field. 

Think about how people right now spend a lot more time scrolling through Social Media, meaning a greater audience, and expert marketers know it. Marketing didn't shut down; it just changed to address different needs. Today we want to share with you valuable marketing tactics you should implement to boost your practice to make the most out of the downtime. Let's sort out a way for you to adapt to the ongoing quarantine & be ready to hit the ground running when you open up your business doors again.

 It's all about adapting & survival of the fittest. 

We should stop thinking about going back to "normal," most likely things will be different after what we are going through. Normalcy will change, and as an entrepreneur, you'll have to embrace that changing process to survive the bad times and, hopefully, stay on top during the good times. Think about Blockbuster & Netflix. Analyze the way Blockbuster failed to adapt to the new streaming technologies in a matter of months. You don't want to find yourself in that sort of situation; you want to react accordingly to the latest market flow.

Marketing is not JUST about selling, but it is about positioning yourself in a tasteful and positive light to provide solutions to problems. Your knowledge alone is very valuable, so even if you cannot provide a physical service, a virtual consultations can create enough rapport to keep bringing people in.

Should you be marketing even when your doors are closed? The short answer is yes! Businesses have to continually innovate & adapt in order to come out on top of any situation. So maybe this time around your marketing WILL be and look different, but it shouldn't be non-existent. You, as a business owner, can set yourself up for success to thrive not only during but AFTER this and any crisis. 

1. It is all about creating strategic moves now so you can AT LEAST cover your overhead and protect your assets.

Right now maybe you won't aim to grow, but to stay alive; protecting your practice, your staff, the results of your hard work so far. Position yourself in such a way you'll survive the pandemic and grow after it. Take the opportunity to work ON your business while providing valuable information & support for your potential customers. Avoid staying paralyzed by the circumstances, own them and make the most out of them!

Bet for the long term results: Combine strong branding with inbound marketing.

Your efforts today will not show results immediately, and you have to be ready for that. Right now you are building and nurturing a strategy based on branding and inbound marketing -the process of attracting the attention of prospects, via content creation, before they are even ready to buy.- Believe us, even though this is a slow process, the results are enormous! When the economy activates again, you want to stay on top of mind of people, and you can do that by simply being there during these hard times! Make sure that when your target audience needs an aesthetic service, you'll be the one getting a DM asking for a consultation!

2. Consider creating stimulus packages that you can offer your tribe, your people, your clients so they can help you out during this time.

Build tasteful marketing that will help you get people's attention while maintaining awareness of the current situation. You don't want to offend anyone, but you want people to support you and the overall local economy. 

Pro-tip: Don't be afraid of making outstanding offers (some money is better than no money during this survival time.) No one knows your business better than you, but depending on where you are standing, offering 75% discounts might be necessary for the sake of keeping our head over water.
